Freeze Fat Away With CoolSculpting
Body Contouring Just Got Easier! Many men and women have unwanted fat in particular problem areas. Bulges of fat in the back, abdomen, thighs, hips, and even under the chin, can seem impossible to get rid of with diet and exercise alone. If you’ve already improved your figure with diet and exercise and you’re not interested in a surgical procedure, we have good news for you.
There is a new way to accomplish your fat reduction goals without surgery: CoolSculpting. This revolutionary new treatment is now available at Georgia Dermatology Partners in Braselton, Snellville & Loganville, GA.
What Is CoolSculpting?
The CoolSculpting procedure eliminates stubborn fat safely and effectively, without surgery, anesthesia or downtime. This fat reduction treatment is the only FDA-cleared procedure to use controlled cooling to safely target and eliminate diet- and exercise-resistant fat. CoolSculpting results are proven, noticeable, and lasting, so you’ll look and feel great from every angle.
CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively get rid of stubborn fat that does not respond to diet and exercise. This non-surgical fat reduction procedure freezes away fat by targeting the fat cells underneath the skin.
It does not harm the skin or other tissue and acts strictly on fat cells. Once the fat cells are treated, they are gradually eliminated through your body’s own metabolic processes, reducing the thickness of the fat layer.
Some CoolSculpting patients see a reduction in fat after a single visit. However, because it takes time for the body to dispose of fat cells naturally, full results may be seen after a few months. You can also lose more fat cells with additional appointments. Since fat cells eliminated during the procedure no longer return, you can expect long-lasting results as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
What are the Benefits of CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is not meant to remove large amounts of fat. That is more of a job for liposuction (although even with liposuction, removing too much fat at one time is dangerous). CoolSculpting is meant to improve contour by reducing roughly a quarter of the fat in the treatment areas. It does this without any incisions, anesthesia, or recovery time.
CoolSculpting is an alternative to surgical liposuction, but it is not meant as a weight-loss procedure. With CoolSculpting, the fat is frozen and about one-quarter of the fat cells die and are flushed from the body over the next few weeks. As this happens, your contour slims.
Who are the Ideal Candidates for CoolSculpting Treatment?
It’s important to note that CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss procedure; it’s a fat-loss procedure and a body-contouring procedure. This is meant to reduce fat in specific stubborn areas such as the lower abdomen and the flanks. At Georgia Dermatology Partners, we generally want our CoolSculpting patients to be within 10 percent of their ideal body weight.
The FDA has approved CoolSculpting for treating these areas:
- Back fat
- Bra line fat
- Underneath the buttocks
- Double chin
"I had such a pleasant & happy experience with the entire staff. Dr Brown & Destiny explained everything so well & were very professional & knowledgeable. Everything was explained to me thoroughly & in a way I could understand. I will definitely recommend Ga Dermatology to all!! You will be happy! " - A.E.
"I’ve been going to Gwinnett dermatology for more years than I would like to remember. That being said, I have used a number of the doctors (Dr. Wright, Dr. Sadler, Dr. Mercer) and PAs during this time and always felt thankful for their attention, level of care and their ability to listen to my questions and answering them. They are familiar with my history when I come in so we don’t waste time reviewing how they’ve previously treated me. The nurses are super friendly and helpful as well." - M.H.

How to Prepare for Your CoolSculpting Procedure:
There really isn’t any preparation that is necessary before you undergo CoolSculpting treatment. If you’re prone to bruising, you can stop taking any medications or supplements that interfere with blood flow and increase the possibility of bruising.
Otherwise, simply plan what you want to do during your session, be it reading, watching videos on an iPad, playing a game on your phone, or taking a nap.
The CoolSculpting Procedure
The CoolSculpting procedure requires no anesthesia or pain medication. CoolSculpting is not an invasive procedure, which means patients can read magazines, listen to music, or work on their laptops during the treatment. Depending upon the patient’s body type, it can be used on the abdomen, arms, back, love handles and inner/outer thighs.
"The staff, doctors, and Physicians Assistants at Georgia Dermatology Partners are always professional and courteous. Appointments run on time. I’ve taken my kids there and I have been a patient as well. Great experience all around!" - K.S.
"Dr. Brown and all of the staff at Georgia Dermatology Partners are an absolute pleasure. Every staff member in this office has a smile on their face and the level of service is amazing. They are prompt, efficient and friendly. I highly recommend." - S.H.
How Long Is A Fat Freezing Session?
At Georgia Dermatology Partners, our CoolSculpting sessions last usually from 35-60 minutes. This depends on the size of the treatment area.
How Many CoolSculpting Sessions Will I Need?
Different patients have different degrees of fat loss. Patients with thicker skin seem to need more sessions than those with thinner skin. Some people are satisfied with their results after a single session, but we usually recommend two treatments on the same area for the best results. Generally, fat reduction decreases with additional CoolSculpting sessions. We will discuss your options with you during your consultation.
What is the Recovery from CoolSculpting?
After CoolSculpting, patients can return immediately to their normal routine. There may be some redness or soreness in the treated area, though this will clear within a few hours. Any bruising will disappear within a few weeks. Some CoolSculpting patients have also reported a temporary dulling of sensation in the treated area. In cases of side effects, they are usually mild and do not require the patient to take medications or take some time off from work and other activities.
What Does A Fat Freezing Treatment Feel Like?
There are a couple of different sensations involved with a CoolSculpting procedure at Georgia Dermatology Partners. The first is a pulling sensation when the cooling panels first use suction to draw the tissues onto the panels in the treatment area. Then, once we initiate the freezing, you’ll feel an intense cooling sensation as the CoolSculpting device sends the freezing down into your skin.
This sensation only lasts a few minutes before the area becomes numb for the remainder of your treatment. Afterward, you will have some numbness in the treatment area, but we massage the tissues for two to three minutes to help with this.
What Happens If I Gain Weight After My CoolSculpting Treatments?
The fat cells that die and are flushed from the body are gone for good, and your slimmer contour will endure. However, if you gain weight, the fat has to accumulate somewhere, so you can lose some of the results you’ve gained. Most of our patients are so excited by their new slimmer contours that they get serious about changing their diets and adopting exercise as a part of a new, healthier lifestyle.
Why Choose CoolSculpting?
The question really should be “Why not CoolSculpting?” After all, just about everyone has stubborn pockets of fat in places such as the flanks and abdomen that are virtually impossible to get rid of with diet and exercise. CoolSculpting allows you to reduce the fat in these areas by 20-25 percent in a completely non-invasive procedure. After your CoolSculpting session, you can go right back to work or your normal routine without any recovery or downtime.
CoolSculpting is FDA approved and has been used successfully by hundreds of thousands of people around the world since 2010.
